As a result, we have put together this list of  suggested blogging resources that we either use, have used or are highly recommended by bloggers that we trust.

The most popular platform for most bloggers is – WordPress.org.  Not only that but it’s the number one choice for serious bloggers who plan on making an income from their blogs.

There’s a couple of different platforms, including:

  • WordPress.com– this is a  free hosted blogging platform.
  • Blogger– another free hosted  source- it’s owned by Google.

As you already know, there are hundreds of hosting services that you can choose from as a blogger.

If you’re just getting started, are on a budget or  simply setting up a small blog, then we recommend you take a look at trial.   

NameCheap – is a excellent option for your first site.  They offer 1-click WordPress installation, super friendly 24/7 support, and affordable rates. As a matter of fact, you can host your first wordpress site for only $8 for the first year.

If you are more ambitious, then another great option would be SiteGround .  They are a good choice, especially  if you’re looking for hosting for an established site  or you are looking to position yourself for  growth.

There are tons of blogging themes to choose from for WordPress blogs. You want to be careful when choosing a theme and get one that is updated regularly to prevent it from being hacked.

If you’re on a budget then you will want to check out MyThemeShop, they offer both free and paid premium themes.

Not only do they offer great looking responsive themes,but theeir customer service is quite impressive. They have a friendly support team available to assist you.

Another option would be Themeforest.  It’s the #1 online marketplace for all types of themes and plugins.  The advantage of using Themeforest is that they have thousands of themes that you can choose from.  The disadvantage is the you don’t get the immediate customer support as you do with MyThemeshop.

But if you are on a budget it’s a place to buy your first theme. Just be sure to take time to read the reviews before buying a theme.

  • Yoast – the #1 SEO plugin used by most bloggers. It offers a free and paid plan.
  • Attracta – offers free SEO training and tools that you can use to get your site listed in Google. They also offer very affordable managed SEO services starting from $7.95 a month.

  • PicMonkey– this is another useful free graphic tool that you can use to create eye-catching content.
  • DepositPhotos– one of the best platforms to find nice photos, images, even videos for your blog.  It’s a paid plan but the rates are very affordable.
  • Pixaby– a 100% free website that has  millions of high quality images and videos.

When using both services, I highly recommend you read the reviews before you hire a contractor, that way you won’t get loose your money.
  • BuzzSumo– a nice content tool for analyzing how well blog posts are performing and being shared across the web.
  • Easy Digital Downloads– a easy to use platform that you can use to sell ebooks on your blog.
  • Google Analytics– a tool you will need to install on your site to measure how well our site is doing.
  • Google Webmaster Tools – a free tool from Google that helps you understand what’s going on on your site so you can better optimize it.
  • Google Apps – an  all in one team management platform owned by Google. Provides everything you need to keep your business on track, including business email service.
  • Bing Webmaster Tools – same as the Google tool. Bing offers a free ad credit when you sign up as a user.

As you probably know, there are multiple ways that you can use to earn money with your blog.  It’s not possible to cover all of them here, so I will include a few good sources that are fairly easy to get started with as a new blogger:

  • AdSense– this is Google’s Ad network. It’s one the most common platforms that bloggers use to monetize their blogs.
  • Amazon Associates– of course, this is the largest online retailer.  You earn cash by recommending all types of products and services from their site.
  • Shareaholic– a free plugin that you install on your site and use to earn cash for free.
